Bibletoolbar

Bibletoolbar is a Firefox extension for searching the online Bible site Biblegateway.com.

It contains features for selecting different translations and doing parallel displays of texts from different versions. There are also options for how the toolbar opens it's windows and multiple languages are supported.

So what is Bible Toolbar 2.0?
Bible Toolbar 2.0 is a Firefox extension for doing searching of Biblegateway.com. It allows you to search with keywords, or passage references (like 'Rom 5' for Romans chapter 5), and limit your search selections to certain versions and sections of Scripture. In v. 2.0 we've also added the ability to do Parallel searches with two versions side-by-side.

What happened to version 1.x?
Version 1.x is no longer being activly developed. However, it is still available for download off the download page for people who want to continue using it.

Who are you guys?
Jamison Stepan is a computer programmer and seminary student living in Minnesota. He's on his way to completing a Master of Divinity at Luther Seminary. He created the original Bible Toolbar because he wanted a quick way to access Bible verses in Firefox.

Karl Herrick is a Firefox aficionado and student at New Tribes Mission Institute in Ontario. He hopes one day to be involved in tribal missions either in the jungle planting churches, or in the city in support of church planters out in the jungle. He developed SuperBibleToolbar off of the original Bible Toolbar code. The work that he did has now been integrated back into the original Bible Toolbar.

Can I update from Bible Toolbar 1.x?
No. You need to first un-install any previous versions of Bible Toolbar or Super Bible Toolbar to use version 2.0.

Does this work on Mozilla?
Bible Toolbar 1.5.x will work with Mozilla. However, Bible Toolbar 2.0 does not.

How do I install Bible Toolbar?
When you click on the Install link you will be taken to our mozdev site where you can download the .xpi file. To install this file simply open it in your Firefox browser.
